Renown
- Renown is relative to particular communities and factions.
- Actions that increase renown with one community or faction may simultaneously decrease renown with others.
- A person of renown is afforded greater status in their community, while a person of ill repute is avoided or shunned.
Gaining and Losing Renown
Characters gain and lose renown points as a result of certain in-game events, but only if the event is a matter of public record. So, killing a wyvern amid a mountainous wilderness would afford no renown if the event isn’t witnessed, but if the characters drag its severed head back to town and present it to the local authorities, then that act would earn renown.
