Are you at least 18 years old?

Are you consistently available to play from 2–6 p.m. EST on Sundays?

How many 1) total individual game sessions have you played, 2) different characters have you portrayed, and 3) unique game tables have you played at?

Rough estimates are fine. More experience is not necessarily better.

Has your experience been mostly online, in-person, or both?

This game is online (obviously).

If you run games as a Dungeon Master, how does that experience inform your play style?

Dungeon mastering experience is not required.

How diverse are your gaming groups?

Our table currently includes three women and two men ranging from early twenties to late fifties and spanning three countries (USA, France, and Germany). Most of us speak English as a second language.

How interested are you in listening to the other players, and how comfortable are you with extended silences?

Most of us are introspective, and it takes time to gather our thoughts. We value holding space for others.

How comfortable are you with open-minded acceptance and mutual support as a baseline for social interactions?

Monsters are for slaying. Friends are for caring.

What do you do when you notice other players making mistakes during their turns (with rules, tactical choices, NPCs interactions, or world lore)?

Do you prefer speaking in-character or out-of-character?

On average, we typically speak in-character about half the time. (Some of us more than others.)

What is your preferred balance between speaking in-character with other party members, role playing with NPCs, building session-spanning alliances with in-game factions, and waging deadly combat on the battlemap?

Proportions vary from session to session, but in our game, combat tends to take more time than any other single activity, followed by party talk, role playing with NPCs, and faction building.

What are your thoughts on character death?

Our DM is trying to kill us. Sometimes, we die, and it is not always glorious.

How do you prefer handling the game's rules?

Our DM strives to run games rule-as-written (with only a few well-documented exceptions). Players are expected to rely on official rule books (all provided free) for clarification, and everyone is expected to avoid researching rules with robots (A.I.) or from open web sources (such as Reddit or YouTube).

How do you manage disagreements about rules during play?

Between sessions, our DM relishes rules discussions; but during play, our DM strongly prefers that players raise questions about rules only during their own turns and only about how they affect their own characters.

How ready and willing are you to use Roll20?

We use Roll20 as our VTT. Other character sheets, dice rollers, browser extensions, and related tools are not permitted.

Is your microphone good enough to hear you clearly, and what techniques do you use to limit background noise?
